Ann Curry
Ann Curry was born in America and is an American photographer and journalist. Since more than 45 years she has focused her efforts on the reporting of human suffering, primarily during war and natural catastrophes. Curry has reported on wars around the world, including in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry was an American journalist, TV news reporter and host who is best known as a correspondent for the Today program, a daily morning newscast on NBC. Curry was noted especially for her work on reporting humanitarian crises in war-torn countries as well as on natural disasters. Curry's father served as a sailor with the U.S. Navy and her mother was Japanese. Curry's parents were married in Japan, in which her father was stationed following World War II. Family members were constantly moving due to the military duties of her father. They finally arrived in Ashland Oregon where Curry attended high school. The University of Oregon awarded her an undergraduate degree in journalism. Ashland is where she finally finished her high school. In the role of an intern at KTVL Channel 10 Medford, Oregan, she began her journey in broadcasting. She became the first female news reporter for the station when she aged 22. She subsequently moved to the position of an anchor as well as reporter at KGW an NBC affiliate located in Portland, Oregan. Then, four years later she moved to Los Angeles and became a reporter for KCBS TV. In the course of her work with the channel for a period of 6 years that she was awarded two Emmy Awards.
